Jan has worked at Community Hospital since 1976,
starting part-time as staff registered nurse while she
continued her nursing education. In 1982, Jan took
on the responsibilities of a nursing supervisor and
obstetrics coordinator. She was promoted to her present
administrative position in 1984. In November, 2002, Jan
received the title of Vice President Patient Care
Services as part of administration's reorganization, to
more accurately reflect current responsibilities. She is responsible for supervising the hospital's patient care
departments of:
- Nursing
- Social
services
- Pharmacy
- Home
Health and Hospice
-
Respiratory Care
- Laboratory
/ Blood Bank
- Surgery
She
serves as a member of the hospital's four-member senior
management team, called the Administrative Council.
Education
Jan received her Associate of Science in Nursing in 1976
from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College
of Nursing in Omaha. She received her Bachelor of
Science in Nursing in 1978 from the University of
Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing in Lincoln.
In 1988, she received a credential of Management Studies
in Health Services Administration from the University of
Minnesota School of Public Health in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Professional and Community Activities and Awards
Jan served as a trustee on the Hillcrest Nursing Home
board from 1988-1992, as well as a director on the Red
Willow Division of the American Heart Association board
from 1994-1998. She is a member of the
McCook Christian Church.
