Diabetic Classes
Take control of your diabetes by
asking your doctor for a referral to the Diabetic
Education Program at Community Hospital.
You'll gain
comprehensive information and insights into what happens
in your body when you have diabetes, and learn
strategies available to care for the condition. These
strategies include diet, exercise, blood sugar
monitoring, and medication including insulation
administration.
This program, in conjunction with BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln, is recognized by the
American Diabetes Association for Quality
Self-Management Education, and qualifies for Medicare
and insurance reimbursement in most cases. Taught by
a Certified Diabetic Educator, Dietician, and Pharmacist, these

FreshStart Quit Smoking Classes
If you're ready
to quit, we're ready to help. If you're tired of the
hassles, the expense, the mess and the smell, we can
help. Community Hospital sponsors FreshStart - the
American Cancer Society's time-tested quit-smoking
program. No lecturing, no scare tactics...just lots of
useful and effective techniques to help you find the
best way to leave cigarettes or chew behind. FreshStart
classes are offered biannually at Community Hospital, in
the spring and fall. For class dates and information,

Health Careers Class
This innovative class
developed at Community Hospital gives high school
seniors from the surrounding area the opportunity to
witness a wide range of medical careers first hand. The
course is designed for students interested in pursuing
health care careers. Enrollment is limited to ten
students. Learning opportunities will include both
lecture and laboratory experiences in all Community
Hospital departments, from administration to direct
patient care services. Class will be held at Community
Hospital and taught by professional hospital staff. The
course is offered the first nine weeks of the fall
