Community Hospital's scholarship loan program offers participants the opportunity to advance their education and become a team member of our regional healthcare team.

Community Hospital is the only JCAHO accredited hospital in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. Our scholarship loan program is financed by contributions from the hospital employees, medical staff and the community. The staff and community support this program in order to recruit and retain well-educated, dedicated employees for Community Hospital.

Eligibility
Students enrolled in healthcare programs are eligible. This does not include pre-requisites. An application must be completed and submitted prior to the interview. An interview will be scheduled with each qualified applicant and the Community Hospital Education Committee.

Amount
The loan will be contingent on the needs of the student. Money may be used to cover the cost of tuition and fees. The amount to be awarded is based upon a decision by the Education Committee and is paid directly to the school.

Forgiveness Provisions
This is a loan intended for persons interested in employment at Community Hospital following graduation. By working at Community Hospital following graduation, the recipient will receive credit toward the amount provided.

The forgiveness provision begins after the successful completion of state boards for licensure of completion of certification. The time of work commitment will be decided by the Education Committee, based on the amount awarded.

Payback for the loan with an interest penalty will result if provisions set by the Education Committee are not met. Employment at Community Hospital is contingent on availability of jobs.
