Two psychiatrists from the Lanning Center for
Behavioral Services in Hastings will begin seeing patients in McCook on a
part-time basis.
Karen Reinertsen, M.D. and George Paskewitz, M.D.
will see patients twice a month at the Midwest Center for Behavioral Services
at 801 West C in McCook, located in the Stinnette Building, owned by Community
Hospital of McCook.
Dr. Reinertsen is board certified in general
psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She is currently a staff
psychiatrist at the Lanning Center for Behavioral Services—Mary Lanning
Memorial Hospital in Hastings. She completed medical school at the University
of Nebraska Medical Center in 1982 and an internship in pediatrics from UNMC in
1983. In 1986, she completed a three-year residency in psychiatry from the
University of Texas Health Science Center. She also completed a fellowship in
child psychiatry from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1987.
Dr. Paskewitz has been affiliated with the Lanning
Center since 1992, specializing in general psychiatry. He was raised in
Gothenburg and graduated from Kearney State College in 1964. He graduated from
the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Fla. in 1969 and completed
his general psychiatry residency from the U.S. Naval Hospital, Oakland, Cali.
in 1973.
Dr. Paskewitz will see patients of all ages including
Hillcrest Nursing Home residents. Dr. Reinertsen will work with children
through younger adults. The two psychiatrists join Carlene Keller of McCook,
licensed mental health practitioner, who is a full-time therapist at the
Midwest Center. Carlene provides counseling for children and adults.
The Midwest Center is a joint venture between
Community Hospital and Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings. For more information
