A new class
offered at Community Hospital and taught by Occupational Therapist, Andrea
Wunibald, will help parents learn playful ways to help their babies learn new
skills. The baby development class will be Wednesday, October 9 at 7 p.m. in
the meeting rooms. Andrea is offering the free class to parents of babies less
than 5 months old.
"This
class with help empower parents to know that they do in fact have the knowledge
to teach their babies through play. We're going to have fun playing with babies
and talking about how you can encourage your baby to reach developmental
milestones, focusing on playful activities," Andrea said. "This will
be a fun way to learn what you can expect from your baby and how you as a
parent can encourage these activities, especially in the first few years."
The casual class will allow parents to talk about and
share their new babies, eat, play with their babies and then talk about how
parents can encourage development in their babies. Andrea will talk about
positioning, play, toys, feeding, and what parents can expect from their baby
developmentally.
The class
will be offered quarterly on the second Wednesday of the month. Classes in 2003
are January 8, April 9, July 9 and October
8. To register, call Andrea at 308-345-8538.
