Trenton — A Trenton Medical Clinic expansion will begin in January for about six weeks to accommodate larger patient volumes. The clinic is a service of Community Hospital in McCook.
Trenton Medical Clinic is located at 406 East First Street in Trenton’s community building which is owned by the Trenton Community Development Commission (TCDC). Cost for the remodeling will be provided by Community Hospital.
The clinic will be expanding an additional 995 square feet of space utilizing the former Trenton Public Library. The expansion will benefit the Trenton Medical Clinic which has increased new patient volumes and added outpatient services this past year. The clinic’s patient visits totaled 2,511 in fiscal year 2008.
The new square footage and former clinic space will be remodeled to add one additional exam room, a new laboratory, an expanded waiting room, a HIPAA privacy area for checking in, a new meeting room and a dedicated outpatient services room. The new business office will be four times as large as the previous one and allow staff to include transcription and registration duties together, as well as house all medical records in the same place.
The community meeting room will remain just south of the clinic expansion in the same building, while the Trenton Public Library moved to another location on Main Street.
Trenton Medical Clinic is staffed by Teresa Hodgson, certified physician assistant on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The clinic is closed on Tuesdays.
Family medicine physicians Richard Klug, M.D., Mark Serbousek, M.D. and John West, M.D., see patients on a rotating schedule. The clinic offers routine healthcare services for the entire family, including preventative healthcare and education, allergy shots, limited lab and X-ray services and minor surgical procedures. Outpatient services include occupational therapy and diabetic education.
To make an appointment, call 308-334-5155. The clinic will remain open during the expansion project with care taken to provide minimal disruption to patient flow. The work will be completed by Esslinger’s Home Improvement Company from McCook. |
