Community Hospital of McCook is sponsoring its fourth
Walk to Remember on Sunday, October 20 at 3 p.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal
Church, according to Obstetrics Coordinator, Joleen Bradley, R.N.
Walk to
Remember is dedicated to babies who have died due to miscarriage, ectopic
pregnancy, stillbirth and infant death, she said. It is not a fundraiser, but
is for the hearts and minds of families who have suffered a loss. All are
invited to gather in memory of the children they love and lost.
"Many
parents have said that participating in a Walk to Remember is a special way of
keeping their baby’s memory alive in their hearts. This does not have to be a
recent loss, or a loss at Community Hospital. All are welcome," Bradley
said.
Participants
will meet in St. Alban’s chapel at 509 West First, McCook, for a short memorial
service. Concluding the service, they will walk to Norris Park for a tree
planting and refreshments.
Please RSVP
by calling Bradley at Community Hospital at 345-8335 by October 18. Walks to
Remember are held in many communities each October in conjunction with
October’s National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
